Red Cheeks and Horse Racing…

close up view of Ernest's mouth...

I admit it! I like a flutter, there is horse racing from Newmarket on Channel 4 today. The Betfair account is open on my laptop and ready for action. I can concentrate on this as Ernest is sleeping at the moment after a night and morning of grumbling and whining. His cheeks are glowing red and his mouth is dribbling as fast as Niagra falls………it’s teething time! Or is it? After texting this information to his Mum (the red cheeks and teething that is, i didn’t feel that Horse racing was relevant) she replied via email with information saying different. According to Babyworld.co.uk  the red cheeks and dribbling could be a sign of a viral infection. We shall be taking him back to the Doctors tomorrow for a follow up on his throat infection, which seems to have cleared up and the amoxicillin is finished. This could all be linked, but the way he keeps moving his bottom lip over his gum tells me teeth. My money is on teeth. My money is also on a horse in the 13.50 at Newmarket called Frederick Engels. Ernie picked it, well sort of, he kind of gurgled as i read the name to him so this confirmed it as my selection. It won! Amazing! That is £30 in the bank and there are some good looking runners coming up in other races. Can i wake Ernest up to help me pick one again? After all, he is on a roll! No i’d better not. I’ll just make sure i run through ALL the races with him whilst he is awake in future. I could even start a tipping service maybe?……
